On the Costa Blanca a listing often names the town or the urbanisation rather than the municipality behind it: Moraira belongs to the municipality of Teulada, Cumbre del Sol to Benitachell, Orihuela Costa to Orihuela and Ciudad Quesada to Rojales. Planning rules and holiday letting depend on the municipality, which is why these pages exist: they match the places described here to their town hall. In the north, around Jávea, Benissa and Calpe, the mountains reach the sea in cliffs and small coves; in the south, around Torrevieja and Orihuela Costa, the land is flat, with sandy beaches and sprawling urbanisations.
